For this a Notice will be issued to the Chairman/HRM, Commissioner NVS and Chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committees by the JAC by 06.10.2009. For this the parents will be taken into confidence by way of holding the PTC meetings on the Ist Saturday in November 2009 and they will be apprised of the difficulties likely to be faced by the students on 16th November 2009. The parents will be informed about the step motherly treatment being meted out to the NVS employees and seek their full cooperation on the day of TOKEN STRIKE.

On the day of token strike the whole staff of the Navodaya Vidyalayas (Principals, Teaching and Non Teaching including Mess Staff) will be on complete strike and the whole system will be paralyzed. No activity will take place. 3 to 5 of the Staff of the vidyalayas will move to the respective Regional Offices a day before and will organize a Mass Dharna infront of Regional Office from 9.00am to 2.00PM. Thereafter, they will move towards the Governor House in Procession and handover a Memorandum to H.E. The Governor of the State. Similarly, atleast 10members from each Regional Office, will move to New Delhi to stage a Dharna infront of Hqrs alongwith the staff from the said office. Vidyalaya units will also stage a Dharna in front of the main gate of the Vidyalaya from 9.00 am to 2.00pm and thereafter move to the District Hqrs to hand over a Memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate. Similar Memorandums will be handed over to the Member of Parliaments on the same day. A draft Memorandum will be available on the web site/blog which will be downloaded and signed by the respective representatives of the Vidyalaya units and handed over to the DC/DM and MPs.

Signing the option forms for NPS 2004 The issue regarding signing the option forms for opting New Pension Scheme circulated by NVS also came up for discussions. It was unanimously decided that no employee will sign the option because neither the employees working before 1.1.2004 are ready to accept the New Pension Scheme nor the employees who have joined after 1.1.2004 are being benefited because the Samiti has distorted the scheme by effecting it w.e.f. 01.09.2009. Therefore, no staff member will sign the options and even those who have earlier signed will send a letter withdrawing it. The JAC will also convey its decision in this regard to the Management immediately in writing.

Sh. N.K. Pahwa, NVS(RO) Chandigarh extended vote of thanks to one and all.

  1. Kudos to the Organisers!!!Really the meeting was mind-blowing... carried out in a well-organised manner.Myself was also present there in the meeting. It was more like of a conference, so to speak...an intellectual forum.Everybody had kept their patience and agreed to disagree in certain points without raising their voice, but with their rationality and logical assertion.

Similar meetings should be organised in future too, keeping the same decorum and decency...

  4. I feel pension is a long shot...but surely an achievable one. But the more painful problems are the ones that are caused by our own officers. Payment of adhoc bonus has been denied. If our own officers cannot understand English, then why do we blame others. Unless and until our samiti officers stop thestep- motherly attictude towards the teaching staff, problems will continue. What i have heard is that it is not the ACs orthe DCs or even the JC who decide what the teachers should get. It more the UDCs the LDCs and the staff of assistants' cadre, frustrated people who deny benefits to the staff, drawing a sadistic pleasure. Another example is the transport allowance, which has been paid in some schools and not paid in some. Some Principals have also cut the same. The question put forward is whether the samiti has given any order to pay the transport alowance for May? The fact that samiti's order is required to deny benefits is forgotten. At this rate, tomorrow Samiti may also have to send every school an order to pay the salary as well as DA, TA and SA. Shame on our own people! I am a very big supporter of the JAC and i sincerely hope that all our goals are realised at the earliest, but then before we throw stones, let us also remember that we are living in fragile glass houses.

  5. A Team of the JAC including the Principals of JNV Kottayam & JNV Idukki visited our vidyalaya as part of the campaign to drum up support for the course of action that has been drawn-up to invite the attention of authorities to our long-standing demand of pension. A meeting was convened at 8.30 am which was attended by members of both teaching & nonteaching staff. The JAC members apprised the members of various steps taken by various associations to get the pension introduced and the cold response of the concerned authorities so far. This has compelled us to go the extreme step. Now we will get the pension introduced at any cost. We were of the opinion that denying pension to a Govt. servent at the end of his service is nothing but the violation of fundamental right. By denying pension samiti is denying their right to live after retirement. We can't tolerate this step motherly attitude anymore. Staff working in our sister concerns are having all these benefits. Then why we are denied of this?

  6. sebi paul k, tgt english of bangalore urban

I had the fortune of attending the Jantar Mandar rally and is back to my vidyalaya fully charged with enthusiasm and spirit to fight for our legitimate right of winning ccs pension... I was particularly motivated by the caption in the rally : "Gives the Best CBSE results in the whole country; but gets the worst treatment in the whole world." Again, "In KV Pension; in NV Tension.".....how's it? Aren't your emotions kindled....pass this fire to your colleagues both of your vidyalaya and to your neighbouring vidyalaya and ensure the 16th Novemeber 09- Token Strike is a 100% success. 8. Navodaya who were supposed to be cats for administrations now have become tigers. It is really surprising to see their strength to organise mass rally and protest in front of nvs campus. The press has covered extenssively and needs to be thanked. The Catering assistants position in nvs are very bad and still worse mess staff. There are no promotional avenues and further upgradation. Staff have who joined as LDC have become office superintendents, but Cat assistants are in the same position struggling to attend daun to dusk duties. U please go trough the catering staff in organisation like ISRO etc to do the needful Donot theink they are different from teaching staff. Mess staff are the only people who are serving the entire community of school. thanks

pgts in sr scale have been denied bonusin nvs, while in kvs they have got the same.this is certainly discriminating & violative of all norms of govt. of india where it is notified that all nongazetted gr.b employees are eligible for bonus. i have put my grievance to nvs grievance cell with encloures of govt. of ministry of finance notification for payment of bonus. my humble request to all members is that why not they raise a protesting demand & forward a letter to ministry of h r d & ministry of finance? they should go to court also, for which i will extend all possible help.

  12. we have been badly cheated and taken for a ride by NVS officers. We lack foresight to sense this deception. We should have postponed our indefinite strike to 16th February rather than calling it off.
Now we are too late to resume our activities.Let us boycot activities like sunday/holiday duties,MOD duty and JNST.
